Last November 2016, ASEP TA organized information sessions on the EU Call for Proposals for projects that would increase access to renewable energy services in the Philippines. Financial assistance for the chosen proposals would come from the EU-funded ASEP. The information sessions were separately held in Manila, Cebu and Davao to reach the potential project developers in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The sessions were held on November 24 in Manila at the PICC, on November 28 in Cebu at Radisson Blu Hotel and on November 29 in Davao at The Ritz Hotel. A total of 145 project developers attended these information sessions.
The EU Delegation who conducted the information sessions were Mr. Alexandru Morcov, Head of Contracts & Finance Section; Ms. Divina Somera, Contracts and Finance Officer; Mr. Willy Hick, Programme Manager; and Ms. Simone Rolfe, Programme Manager. The information resource team also included EU Technical Consultant, Mr. Ludovic Lacrosse and ASEP Key Expert, Dr. Ernie Terrado.
The call is looking for projects under the following four lots:
Lot 1: Electrification of households and communities through renewable energy hybridization of diesel mini-grids.
Lot 2: Electrification of households and communities through decentralized renewable energy systems and renewable energy micro- or mini-grids.
Lot 3: Electrification of households and communities in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) through Lot 1 and Lot 2 type projects.
Lot 4: Promotion of excellence, learning and awareness on Sustainable Energy For All and the Sustainable Development Goal 7.
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 21 million.
